Does one ever really “need” another flashlight? Don’t we all have more than enough battery eating light machines? I thought so until I read the specs on Streamlight’s ProTac HL (High Lumen). I saw a 600 lumen, 6v compact flashlight made by a respected manufacturer for a super reasonable price (<$70) and thought, “ ’Eh, what’s one more light?”
Targets are important tools, and when used correctly, can greatly aid your marksmanship and improve your combat effectiveness. Using other training aids, like steel targets, also aids in training. There is a time and place for all types of targets. From bulls-eyes to real-imagery shoot/no-shoot targets. From different shapes to Zombie targets, they all have a place in quality training.

Upon being handed a Yates Tactical Rappel harness, my initial thought was, “great idea, in a pinch.” I thought there was no way I’d willingly be caught hanging on a few hundred feet of static rope for any length of time wearing a “tactical rappel harness.” I stand corrected.

A few years ago, a Navy Seal buddy of mine gave me this London Bridge Trading Company (LBT) Load Bearing Chest Rig to try out. I quickly fell in love with it and have been sporting it ever since, both in desert and jungle environments. I have deployed the rig both slick and with body armor, and it has not disappointed. Like everything in life there are both pros and cons, this chest rig is no different. Keep in mind that while the version being discussed is outdated, you can find new and improved versions on their website.
The use of a laser sight on a handgun is a contentious topic amongst shooters. Some swear by them and others swear at anyone who dares use one. I come down in the middle of the group and see a use for them. While I don’t have a laser on my duty handgun I have chosen to outfit my backup gun with a set of Crimson Trace LG-405 Lasergrips.

I purchased the E9 Light Speed Camera Strap a few weeks ago and I have to say that I am impressed. It is extremely well made and completely thought out. The E9 Light Speed Camera strap is a low profile camera strap designed with Combat and Civilian Photographers in mind. It is a scaled down version of their Original E9 Camera Strap.
The M952V is a dual output white light/IR LED with a proprietary integral Swing-Lever rail clamp. The M952V boast two LEDs of which one is a dedicated, unfiltered IR LED (KM3 Bezel). The particular M952V-TN that I have is not the most up to date version that SUREFIRE offers.
I came across the Condor Quick Release Plate Carrier about a year or so ago. At the time I was looking for a vest that was capable of holding both soft armor and SAPI plates and most of all it had to be cheap because I was on a budget!
The TLR-1 proved invaluable during field use and provided much needed visibility when working alone at night. The lights’ C-4 LED produces a truly blinding tight beam of light with a substantial amount of peripheral illumination. It’s really difficult to describe just how bright this light is especially now that you can pick up an updated version that is even more powerful, but lets suffice to say that it is very bright (don’t accidentally point it at air support).
