Spyderco Military G-10 Knife Review
Every once in a while through life, (Hopefully), your hands do something while your brain screams “Don’t do that you know its stupid and”……to late you just did it. Yea that was me a few years back while attempting to fit a Midwest Industries quad rail on a Colt LE carbine (Now I run Knights Armament rails). Unfortunately the victim of my carelessness was the blade tip of my Spyderco Military G-10 combat folder. The second victim was my pride, which was seriously hurt but repairable. Neither are good enough reasons not to share my love for this knife, which has served me so well over the years. So, yes I did use the knife as a pry bar and no, the knife was not designed to be used a pry bar.
I purchased the Spyderco Military G-10 in preparation for a short notice response to Hurricane Katrina. Looking back, there were a lot of items I purchased for Hurricane Katrina “because I’m going to a war zone”. But that is another story for another day…..probably over a beer.
Getting back to the knife. Well, its just a great knife, the blade holds an insane edge and the feel of the grip is great even with gloves. It slides out effortlessly and I just love it.
According to Spyderco, the G10 is “A cornerstone in Spyderco’s Save and Serve line up, the Military Model came about after someone asked Spyderco’s owner Sal Glesser, “If your son were going into the military what folding knife would you send him with?” For certain, it had to meet the requirements of a high-performance, light-weight folder designed for hard use.”
Don’t forget that the Spyderco G-10 is made in the USA! Check out Spyderco.com for more of their great products!
