Summary:

At around $20, the ERGO Grip 2 is affordable and features an A2 sized inner cavity compatible with many accessories including the CAT M4 Cleaning Tool.  It fits both .556 and .308 platforms without spacers and features an ergonomic fit that will inspire confidence and let you focus on more important tasks.

The rubber texture provides a solid grip that you will feel even with gloves.  Add in a material that ERGO Grip claims is “Virtually impervious to oils and solvents” and you have a solid, US made, M4/AR grip that you will be hard pressed to find fault with.

The Grip:

Years ago, a co-worker gave me a hand me down ERGO Grip in OD green.  I have been using it on several M4/AR platforms ever since and never had any issues with it.  Apparently, there have been issues with the original ERGO Grip’s end plugs coming loose and while I could see that happening, mine was always rock solid.  So, when I was offered the opportunity to try out ERGO Grip’s new and improved version 2, I was a little apprehensive as to how they were going to “improve” what had already become my go to grip!

It turns out, that ERGO Grip has left much of the grip un-changed and instead focused on the internal chamber and end plug.  I can’t speak to any change in materials as I haven’t detected any change in grip or feel.

The original ERGO Grip was and is super comfortable! It feels like no other grip!

The only complaint I have ever heard about the original ERGO Grip was that the end plug would come out during use.  And, while mine never did, it always looked like it was about to.  That is probably why I never used it to store any items like batteries or cleaning kits etc.

The original ERGO Grip’s end plug was attached to the body of the grip in case it fell out.

The ERGO Grip 2’s end plug sits flush against the grip and doesn’t budge! It is also not connected as was the first version.  I am confident enough in the fit that I carry my beloved CAT Tool inside the chamber without fear of loss.

Storing a CAT M4 Tool in the ERGO Grip 2 is easy and as long as you place it properly it will not rattle.

I have seen ERGO Grips used on everything from Troy Industries M-14 stocks to FN SCAR platforms. Unlike my Magpul MOE Grip, I have also used both the original ERGO Grip as well as the ERGO Grip 2 on both billet and mil-spec receivers with no fit issues.

Wrap up:

If you are looking for a rock solid AR/M4 grip that will be stable and comfortable at the same time, than look no further than the ERGO Grip 2. At around $20, it is affordable and, in my opinion, there is no reason to be using the standard M4 grip from hell! The ERGO Grip 2’s A2 sized inner cavity is compatible with many accessories including the CAT M4 cleaning tool. It fits both .556 and .308 platforms without spacers and features an ERGOnomic fit that provides all day comfort. Furthermore, the rubber texture provides a solid grip that you will enjoy even with gloves.  Add in a material, that ERGO Grip claims is, “Virtually impervious to oils and solvents”, and you have a solid, US made, M4/AR grip that you will be hard pressed to find fault with.
