Author Tim Gilge puts the Onnais Alloy SE handgun Safe through its paces!
My name is Tim Gilge, and I have been honored to have been asked to write and review some things for BSW. I was born in a little town in the northern frozen plains of Montana, I was raised by two amazing parents who homeschooled my three older brothers, myself and my younger sister. My youngest sister was also born deaf, so my mother traveled around the country learning sign language and brought it home to us as part of our schooling. We had a blessed and amazing childhood filled with adventures and excitement. Around the age of 20, I met a beautiful and smart lady in my hometown, but she was leaving to go to college in Billings, MT and I decided to follow her, this was one of the best decisions of my life. We were married in 2015, and she is currently the director of the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTF) for the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch (YBGR), YBGR is a treatment facility for troubled youth and does many community-based services as well. My wife is also the CEO of another Non-profit 501c3 (Kitty Corner Café) and I could not be prouder. Over the years I wrote many short stories about our childhood, and was in the process of writing them into a small book, when my younger sister passed away unexpectedly in 2020. I published the book shortly after, its called Snakecicles and can be found on Amazon. It was at a chance type meeting at a birthday party where I was introduced to Will and his amazing family who I found out really enjoyed the beforementioned book, and so this relationship began. Unfortunately, my family recently lost my oldest brother in 2022, and are still reeling from the hits. But God will support and get us through this like he does all things. I currently also work YBGR as a maintenance man, mechanic and a relief mental healthcare worker. I find my job very rewarding and fulfilling, I feel like this is where God wants me right now. In my free time I like to try to shoot professionally in USPSA, I say try because I am currently new and learning a lot (that’s a long way of saying I am not very good). I also do some other hobbies like miniature crafting, reloading and minor tinkering on anything I can take apart. I am happy to be a part of BSW and look forward to doing some things here and there for them as I can.
