Magpul TMAG 30 AR/M4 GEN M3 Announced!

It took Magpul a while, but the TMAG 30 AR/M4 GEN M3®, Magpul’s 30-round translucent magazine for use with STANAG-compatible weapons chambered in 5.56×45 NATO/.223 Remington, is finally ready. Developing a translucent magazine with the features and reliability that Magpul expects required a significant level of effort in materials science development, advanced engineering, and in-depth, repetitive testing. While the concept of a translucent magazine isn’t new, the commitment to making one that’s the most durable one in the world is. The TMAG meets Magpul’s rigorous GEN M3 standards for functionality and repeatable reliability, and it’s also the only one that passes the strict Department of Defense Test Operation Procedures for full weapons drops, as well as other dust and chemical reliability tests. Magpul’s production continues to ramp up to meet incredible demand for the TMAG, but they are now available in stores and online in limited—but growing—quantities.

The TMAG – a new line of translucent magazines made with an Olive Drap Translucent material – is the first translucent magazine that meets our rigorous GEN M3 standards, which have set the standard for functionality and reliability for years. After a decade in development, the TMAG is the newest addition to our STANAG-compatible magazine line, allowing shooters to visibly verify various ammunition types as well as round count. Externally, ribbed front and rear straps provide a textured surface to securely grip the TMAG during magazine changes, yet the sides are left smooth to ensure visibility. Meeting our GEN M3 standards, the TMAG uses similar internal geometry as our PMAG. The four-way, anti-tilt follower is paired with a durable USGI-spec, stainless-steel spring with a painted coil, which maintains the “gas gauge” capability from the “Window” magazine product line. The magazine body is clearly marked to show approximate round counts when inserted in a magazine well, and the paint-pen dot matrix allows for aftermarket markings to be applied by shooters. The TMAG’s low-profile floor plate also promotes compatibility with the full line of Magpul floor-plate accessories. And while we made the TMAG a product with no compromises in quality, we still made it affordable.
